Balinese Prayers and Blessings - English Speaking Guide Services

The daily offering made by Balinese Hindus is known as Canang sari (pronounced Chanang sari).  It is a ritual of praise and thanksgiving to the supreme God.  Canangs can be seen on temples, shrines, outside of homes and businesses, and anywhere that it is deemed appropriate to give thanks.

Canangs can contain a variety of offerings, from a few grains of rice to flowers, candy, and incense.  They are modest, simple, and beautiful.

Making and offering Canangs is a symbol of selfless service, meditation, and giving.  They are heart of the heart of what it means to be Balinese.

Are you planning to visit Bali?  I'm ready when you are.  I am an English speaking, local Balinese guide who can show you around our island and tell you all about the Balinese prayer and blessings practices of my faith.   Or, if adventure is what you are looking for, I can show you our animal parks, white water rafting, and other adventures now popular in Bali.

Contact me through this Blog and let me show you Bali.

My name is Tuday, and I'd like to be your guide and driver.

Tanah Lot Temple with English Speaking Balinese Guide and Driver

Surrounded by the Sea

Tanah Lot Temple looks like it is floating on water.  That is because when the tide is high, it is completely surrounded by sea water.  Located on the coast, near Beraban Village in Tabanan Regency, Tanah Lot is a magnificent place to visit.

Visitors can walk out to the base of the temple, but only worshippers may have access to the sanctuary.   It is a beautiful site to experience when the sun is setting.

Holy Guardian Snakes

Be sure to walk down to the caves on the beach to see the black and white sea snakes, which, legend has it, are the guardians of this 16th-century temple dedicated to Shiva by Dang Hyang Nirartha (Pedanda Wawu Rawuh,) the last Hindu priest to come to Bali from Jawa.

This public temple is visited by many people from all over Bali who come to worship.  The anniversary of the temple is called Odalan and comes every 210 days.

English Speaking Guide and Driver Services

Whether you would like to visit the temple in the morning when it is quiet, or in the evening when the sunset is spectacular, I can help you have an enjoyable experience.

Balinese Temple Blessings - English Speaking Driver and Guide

Temple prayer and blessings are a way of life in Bali.  From an early age Balinese children are integrated into the spiritual life on the island.  Visitors are welcome to participate as long as proper dress is worn and the visitors show respect for the spiritual tradition in the temple.  I can help you know what to do, what to wear, and what to pay attention to in our temples.

Contact me, Tuday, so that I can be your English speaking, local Balinese guide to the spiritual culture of our beautiful island.
